Resource Development Internship
As a member of our Resource Development Committee you will have the opportunity to gain invaluable experience in nonprofit development and management, event planning, researching donor prospects, and solicitation strategy.
Our Resource Development Committee specifically works to raise funds from foundations and other other institutional and private donors to support the mission of our organization to “Rebuild Communities from within the Community.”
This is a volunteer position. Three to six student volunteers will be selected nationally to attend a remote 12 week training program (3-6 hours per week). Thereafter, this program will provide a nine (9) month “hands-on” apprenticeship to apply this training in a professional setting with mentorship from our Board of Directors and founder.
Responsibilities
As a team, each student volunteer will then be delegated the following responsibilities:
- Supporting the organization in conducting prospect research; Updating donor and prospect profiles for UBFS programs;
- Conducting general administrative support as related to fundraising;
- Drafting communications to prospects;
- Developing grant proposals and fundraising events (online and in-person).
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
- Preferred experience with nonprofits, fundraising, and/or social justice entities;
- Strong written, oral communication skills, and organizational;
- Strong internet research skills;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
- Ability to work independently, and/or as part of a team and take initiative on projects;
- Ability to multitask;
- Strong project management skills.
