Special Projects

September 23, 2018

Special Projects, unlike programs, are activities the organization may undertake to advance its mission, goals & objectives, or Philosophy (or to assist its affiliate organizations with a program, event, or cause). For Example, in 2014 the UBF partnered with the Free Alabama Movement to bring national attention to unconstitutional living conditions in the Alabama Department of Corrections. To learn more about this special project, see the following link:

In addition, special projects include, but are not limited to:

  • Film/Documentary Projects
  • Lobbying for Legislative changes (I.E. to the extent permitted by the law governing nonprofit organizations);
  • Supporting political campaigns (I.E., to the extent permitted by the law governing nonprofit organizations);
  • Organized protest;
  • Conventions;
  • Seminars

Criteria for determining which special projects the organization will undertake is currently under development. If you or someone you know has a project that you would like for us to consider, contact us.
