Two New Amazing Board Recruits

September 9, 2020

David McDaniel and Catherine Perkins are just amazing people! And WE want know you to how they have been there for our founder in building this organization. For the past two years, David and Ivan were incarcerated at Solano State Prison in Vacaville, California. David had 165 years to life sentence! Fortunately, it was recently overturned and he’s now back on the streets.

The first week he and Ivan met they clashed. He threw all Ivan’s shit in front of his cell door and told him, “I ain’t fucking with you!” Long story short, they talked and from that day forth David supported every group and political action Ivan took or taught in prison. Soon as David hit the streets, he contacted the organization and asked what he could do to help? Six months later… we’re excited to announce David and Catherine recently accepted an olive branch to undergo a 12-month board training program to become our first officially trained board members. Let’s give them a shot out! Now Catherine where do we start? She’s Big Sis to the organization’s founder. She always tells Ivan when he’s wrong or right and has done everything she can to assist with building the UBFSF. She and Ivan have this understanding that’s so deep when it comes to respecting each other’s space and building the community! She da shit! And got L.A. on lock! We love you sis and just want to thank both of you and David for hanging in there with us through difficult times.
