Volunteer Opportunity: Personnel Committee

Personnel Committee Volunteer Job Description

• Works collaboratively with the organization’s Director of Membership or other designated staff to develop the UBF volunteer sign-up program. For more information on this program and others, see https://www.ubfsf.org.

• Evaluates and recommends personnel to fill the various volunteer positions set forth in the UBF By-laws (Art. IX-XII). This includes, but is not limited to, evaluating and recommending staff volunteers, volunteers for specific projects, programs, and committees. Recommendations for volunteer staff, etc. shall be made to the CEO or other designated staff.

• Implements and develops processes and procedures related to personnel management. This includes, but is not limited to:

1. Establishing a formal screening process and procedures to evaluate potential volunteer candidates (I.e., resume submissions [Note: Resumes shall be submitted to ubfscholarshipFoundation@gmail.com ], assigning probationary periods to determine volunteer efficiency, etc.

2. Developing social media campaigns to solicit and screen followers for consideration of volunteer service.

3. Develop volunteer job descriptions.

4. Develop and disseminate informational and training materials (e.g., program outlines, manuals, webinars, suggested books, etc.) necessary to develop human resources to effectively carry out tasks.

5. Maintains necessary records, files, reports, databases, and other such materials related to personnel management.

6. Establishes accounting systems, spreadsheets and other such reports pertaining to payroll, salary budgets for staff, contractors, etc.

7. Coordinate organizational meetings with UBF directors, staff and volunteers as necessary to discuss guidelines, generate ideas, and determine staff requirements for projects, programs and committees.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Self-motivated, determined, and either possesses the will to learn or is experienced in organizational management and personnel management.
